ARRESTS

On October 16th, Deputy Payton arrested Gregory Blankenship, a resident of Weogufka, AL on the charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was processed into the Coosa County Jail on a $7,500 bond.

On October 17th, Deputy Scott arrested Markeeves Neely, a resident of Alexander City, AL on the charge of Failure to Appear in Court. He was processed into the Coosa County Jail on a $1,077.30 cash bond.

On October 20th, Deputy Ward arrested Joseph Burnett, a resident of Sylacauga, AL on the charge of Sexual Abuse of a Child less than 12 years old. He was processed into the Coosa County Jail on a $20,000 bond.

On October 20th, Deputy Mitchell arrested Antonio Simmons, a resident of Sylacauga, AL on the charge of Obstructing Justice. He was processed into the Coosa County Jail on a $1500 bond.

On October 21st, Deputy Cook arrested Andrew Howitz, a resident of Wetumpka, AL on the charges of Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, Attempting to Elude Police, Assault 2nd, Resisting Arrest and Obedience to Police. He was processed into the Coosa County Jail with no bond.

On October 22nd, Deputy Mitchell arrested Quintez Moon, a resident of Kellyton, AL on the charge of Failure to Appear in Court. He was processed into the Coosa County Jail on a $4000 cash bond.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

STEWARTVILLE

On October 16th, Deputies were dispatched to US Highway 231 after receiving a report of Harassment by Communication. Deputies made contact and after investigation, Deputies and caller determined no report was needed.

On October 17th, Deputies were dispatched to Coosa County RD 150 after receiving a report of a vehicle accident on private property. A report was taken.

On October 20th, Deputies were dispatched to Live Oaks Lane after receiving a request for a welfare check. The resident was well and safe.

On October 21st, Deputies were dispatched to Coosa County Road 68 after receiving a report of a civil dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and the situation was resolved without a report.

HANOVER

On October 17th, Deputies were dispatched to Payne RD after receiving a report of a civil dispute. Caller stated shots were being fired to clear the area of unwanted guests. Deputies arrived and safely cleared the area of any unwanted guests and a report was taken.

On October 18th, Deputies, Coosa EMS and Hanover Fire were dispatched to Coosa County RD 75 after receiving a medical call.  Coosa EMS transported subject to Coosa Valley Medical Center.

On October 20th, Deputies were dispatched to Coosa County RD 75 after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle. Vehicle stated they were lost. Deputies assisted them with directions.

On October 21st, Deputies were dispatched to US Highway 231 after receiving a report of a disabled motorist. The vehicle was partially in the roadway. Deputies requested the vehicle be towed.

On October 21st, Deputies were dispatched to US Highway 280 after receiving a report of a vehicle accident. Caller advised Dispatch it was a hit and run. Deputies located the vehicle that fled the scene of the accident on Coosa County RD 131 with the driver inside. The subject attempted to elude which resulted in the Deputy being struck by the vehicle. The driver and the Deputy were taken to Russell Medical Center for evaluation. The driver was later arrested and booked into The Coosa County Jail.

KEYNO

On October 17th, Deputies were dispatched to Coosa County Road 40 after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle in the roadway blocking the path of the school bus. Upon arrival, the caller advised Deputies they will be calling a tow truck to remove the vehicle.

KELLYTON

On October 19th, Deputies were dispatched to US Highway 280 after receiving a report of property damage. Deputies were told a neighbor was mowing grass and a rock hit the car of the caller. A report was taken.

On October 21st, Deputies, Kellyton EMS, and Coosa County Coroner Jack Brewer were dispatched to Coosa County RD 50 after receiving a report of a deceased person. After confirmation, the scene was turned over to the coroner.

On October 21st, Deputies were dispatched to Alabama Highway 9 after receiving a report of Criminal Mischief. A report was taken.

SPEED

On October 22nd, Deputies and Kellyton EMS were dispatched to US Highway 231 after receiving a report of a person lying on the side of the road. Kellyton EMS transported the person to Russell Medical Center.

RAY

On October 20th, Deputies were dispatched to Coosa County RD 32 after receiving a report of a civil dispute. A report was taken.

On October 21st, Deputies were dispatched to Coosa County RD 32 after receiving a report of an unwanted person and threats being made. A report was taken.

WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA

On October 18th, Deputies were dispatched to Antler Loop after receiving a report of Identity Theft. A report was taken.

On October 20th, Deputies were dispatched to Lake Mitchell Drive after receiving a report of Fraud. A report was taken.
